TACMET II Portable Weather Station

Climatronics TACMET II Targets Military’s Highly Mobile Forces
Portable Weather Station Requirements

October 25, 2003

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Climatronics Corporation now offers improved and EMI hardened versions of its successful military TACMET II Weather Station (P/N 102304) which has been fielded in a number of programs requiring real-time surface weather input. This rapidly deployable, compact, self-contained system is packaged in one or two rugged cases, one for the sensor, battery and optional solar panel and the other for the tripod and “quik”-mount. The system requires very little power and can be operated from a wide variety of both AC and DC power sources. The system is easily deployed and ready to operate in less than five minutes without tools and requiring no orientation or calibration. The TACMET II may also be vehicle pr shelter mounted and its compact size does not compete for storage or deployment space in these applications. Data is transmitted either via wire or wirelessly via an internal spread spectrum radio to a number of commonly available display devices.

Climatronics’ Portable Weather Station can provide real time data for display and analysis using our WeatherView™, AWeather™, or NOAA Cameo/Aloha software products. The digital output is easily integrated into almost any existing or planned data and display system applications. Weatherview and AWeather run on either a Laptop or PDA, Cameo/Aloha with Marplot (for detailed area specific plume dispersion display/tracking) requires a laptop.

Typical applications include artillery support, nuclear/biological/chemical (NBC) detection, general theater weather support, individual facility security and emergency response management, special event security, temporary local aviation support, and large-scale fire management.

Climatronics is a leading manufacturer of weather sensors and systems specializing in turn-key system integration and custom application. We supply and service our equipment worldwide and maintain a complete factory calibration facility at our corporate headquarters on Long Island, NY.
