Low-Cost Visibility Sensor Introduced

Climatronics adds the Fog Sentry™ Visibility Sensor to Product Line

July 24,, 2003

Climatronics Corporation has just added a low-cost visibility sensor to it is extensive line of meteorological monitoring instruments and systems. The Fog Sentry™ is an infrared, forward scatter sensor that builds on the findings of years of visibility sensor testing by the National Weather Service and Federal Aviation Administration, and it includes the two design elements, a 42û scatter angle for optimal performance in fog and snow as well as downward looking heads to reduce lens blockage by blowing snow, that these agencies recommend.

An integrated, one-piece housing design keeps all cabling internal to the sensor for the ultimate protection against the elements, and the sensor housing and enclosures are made from anodized aluminum and UV-resistant fiberglass rated to IP66.

Fog Sentry™ has analog voltage outputs for data recording by data acquisition systems, with optional current loop or serial data message formats, and operates from lines or battery power, making it flexible enough for both fixed and mobile applications.

Climatronics is a leading manufacturer of weather sensors and systems specializing in turn-key system integration and custom application. We supply and service our equipment worldwide and maintain a complete factory calibration facility at our corporate headquarters on Long Island, NY.
