Climatronics Corporation continues to update its Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) software for airport weather systems. This software package provides airport operators with a complete view of the current weather conditions on the base screen, plus the flexibility to monitor the complete system operations from the main operator's terminal. From the main operator's screen, it is possible to:
• Graphically view the system status quickly through a set of icons representing the major components of the AWOS
• View the data input to the system from the sensor suite
• Monitor an individual sensor operation, such at the present weather sensor
• Supplement the AWOS observation with a manual local notice to airmen (NOTAM) or other remarks
• Edit the METAR, SYNOP and SPECI meteorological messages The typical application for this software is for small to mid-sized airports, but it can be configured for major Category III airfields, too.
